
LAGOS STATE DESERVES 13% DERIVATION AS A COASTAL STATE
Prof. Itsay Sagay and Barrister Femi Falana were both special guests of honour at the just celebrated 1st anniversary of the 8th Assembly of the Lagos State Legislative House .
Prof. Sagay traced the historical journey of federalism in Nigeria till the present date stating that the 1963 constitution was the best in terms of promoting true fiscal federalism.
Barrister Falana in turn trashed the issue of State policing, enumerating on the pros and cons of a state like Lagos having its own force.
The icing on the cake at the program was the call and assertion by both seasoned legal luminaries on the need for the Federal Government to begin to pay Lagos State 13% derivation as a coastal state.
